You used a purported quote from John Clare’s poem “November.” However, I cannot find this passage in that poem. Did Clare write another poem entitled “November”? I believe this quote has been falsely attributed to John Clare. Can you give me the complete reference for the quote, and the entire poem in which it appears? Thank you.

Charles,
I have a book of quotes, poems, etc. that I’ve collected for years. Perhaps the error in citation was mine, made a long time ago. Or perhaps the source I copied from was in error. As this notebook of mine receives entries from all sorts of sources – books, posters, greeting cards, even billboards, t-shirts and bumper stickers, I can’t say from where or even when the poem was noted in its pages for November. I can tell you it was in the last five years, because that’s when I started categorizing the entries into months and seasons, instead of simply adding the latest new entries at the back. Sorry I can’t be of further help than that.
